Professional Tree Pest & Disease Treatment for Healthier, More Resilient Trees

Insects, fungal diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and environmental stress can weaken trees and lead to long-term decline when problems are not identified early. 4th Generation Tree's ISA Certified Arborists provide professional tree health evaluations, pest diagnosis, disease treatment, and preventative care throughout San Luis Obispo County. Using science-based diagnostics and environmentally responsible treatment methods, we identify the source of tree health problems and develop targeted solutions designed to protect individual trees and entire landscapes.

What we do

Tree Health Evaluation & Diagnosis

Our ISA Certified Arborists inspect leaves, branches, trunks, roots, soil conditions, and surrounding environmental factors to identify the underlying cause of declining tree health before recommending treatment.

Targeted Pest & Disease Treatments

Depending on the diagnosis, we may use soil and root-zone treatments, trunk injections, canopy applications, biological controls, sanitation pruning, or other targeted methods designed to address the specific problem.

Preventative Tree Health Care

Seasonal inspections, soil amendments, proper mulching, irrigation management, and preventative treatments can strengthen trees and help reduce their susceptibility to recurring insects, diseases, and environmental stress.

Specialized Tree Care Programs

We develop customized management programs for Central Coast species such as coast live oaks, sycamores, pines, and fruit trees based on their unique pest, disease, soil, and environmental challenges.

What drives the price

01

Access

Can a chipper and a grapple truck get within reach of the trunk, or is everything coming out through a 36-inch gate by hand? This is the single biggest variable.

02

Drop zone

Open ground under the canopy means we can fell and buck. A pool, a patio or a neighbour's roof underneath means rigging or a crane, and the day gets longer.

03

Size, species and condition

Green oak weighs far more than dry pine of the same diameter, and a decayed trunk can't be climbed — both change the method before they change the price.

04

Stump and debris

Grinding is quoted with the removal. Say the word and we leave the rounds bucked for firewood, or chip everything and haul it out.

HOW IT COMES DOWN

Climbed, rigged or picked by crane

The method is decided on site by the arborist, not sold to you in advance. A tree in the open gets felled. A tree over a roof gets rigged down piece by piece, or lifted out whole by crane when that is faster and safer for the structure underneath.

Pest & Disease Diagnosis questions

How can I tell if my tree has a pest or disease problem?

Common warning signs include discolored or wilting leaves, premature leaf drop, dead branches, holes in the trunk or bark, unusual growths, fungal activity, sticky residue, visible insects, or an unexplained decline in overall tree health.

We diagnose and manage a variety of problems, including borers, aphids, mites, scale insects, anthracnose, powdery mildew, root diseases, cankers, bacterial infections, and other conditions affecting trees throughout the Central Coast.

Our arborists evaluate visible symptoms, tree structure, soil and root-zone conditions, environmental stressors, and pest activity and may use additional diagnostic methods such as soil testing or tissue sampling when appropriate.

Many tree health problems can be successfully managed when identified early, although the appropriate treatment depends on the tree species, severity of the problem, overall condition, and underlying cause of decline.

Regular inspections, proper irrigation, healthy soil, appropriate mulching and pruning, preventative treatments, and early identification of new symptoms can help trees remain healthier and more resistant to future pest and disease problems.

What clients say

★★★★★

I love working with local family owned businesses, and they exceeded expectations! Hard working crew, especially Jeferson the lead, he was extremely knowledgeable on pruning our oaks. We’re on almost three acres, and our views have never been better.

Morgan and his team at 4th Generation Tree were a HUGE help to us. They were easy to work with, flexible, and very accommodating as we worked through several tree removal and trimming needs across our church property. Their work improved both the safety and appearance of our grounds. I highly recommend!!!

Casey, Morgan, and their crew at 4th Generation did a great job trimming our Oak trees, removing three big pines and grinding the stumps. It was a big job and they managed it perfectly! They have been trimming our oak trees for years and we are always happy with the results! Thanks again!
