Service area

This is the work between tree care and dirt work: knocking down waist-high weeds before fire season, masticating acres of dense brush, opening an overgrown access road or clearing a site so the next crew can actually get onto it.

We match the machine to the ground instead of forcing one method onto every property. Tractors, masticators, excavators and track loaders let our crews work open acreage, steep slopes and dense vegetation while controlling what gets removed, what stays and what happens to the ground afterward.

What comes with the crew

Tractors, masticators, excavators and track loaders from our own fleet

Fuel reduction planned around access, terrain and existing vegetation

Selective clearing that keeps desirable trees and vegetation where practical

Grading and erosion control available after clearing

Licensed, insured crews experienced on residential and large-acreage sites

Common questions

What's the difference between mowing, mastication and land clearing?

Mowing is best for grass, weeds and lighter vegetation across relatively open ground. Mastication grinds heavier brush and small woody material into mulch in place. Land clearing goes further when a site needs vegetation, trees, roots or other material removed for construction, access or a new use. We look at the terrain and what you want to accomplish before recommending the equipment.

That depends on where the vegetation sits in relation to structures, roads, slopes and surrounding fuels. The goal usually isn’t to clear everything. It’s to reduce dense brush, dead material and ladder fuels while maintaining appropriate spacing and keeping healthy vegetation where it makes sense. We can scope the work around defensible-space and broader fuel-reduction needs.

In many cases, yes. Our fleet includes compact track loaders, excavators and mastication equipment that let us work terrain a tractor or conventional mower can’t handle. Access, slope, soil conditions and vegetation density determine which machine we use and whether portions of the property need a different approach.

It depends on the method. Mastication grinds vegetation into smaller material that’s normally left on site as a mulch layer. Other clearing may involve chipping, piling or hauling material away. We determine the cleanup plan when we scope the job so you know what the property will look like when the crew leaves.

Sometimes, but most properties eventually need maintenance. Grass and annual weeds may require seasonal mowing, while brush, poison oak and other woody vegetation can resprout after initial clearing. For properties with ongoing fire-safety or access requirements, we can establish a maintenance cycle rather than waiting for the vegetation to become overgrown again.
