Infrastructure Safety Through Professional Tree & Vegetation Management

Trees and overgrown vegetation can create serious risks around power lines, roadways, pipelines, substations, and other critical infrastructure. 4th Generation Tree provides comprehensive utility and agency tree services throughout San Luis Obispo, Monterey, and Santa Barbara Counties, helping public and private organizations maintain safe, reliable, and compliant rights-of-way. Our ISA Certified Arborists deliver line-clearance pruning, hazard-tree assessment, vegetation management planning, storm response, and utility-compatible planting strategies designed to protect infrastructure while supporting long-term landscape health.

What we do

Infrastructure Clearance & Line-Clearance Pruning

Our crews provide professional pruning and vegetation control to maintain appropriate clearance around utilities, roads, pipelines, substations, and other critical infrastructure.

Hazard Tree Assessment & Mitigation

Our ISA Certified Arborists identify structurally compromised trees and limbs that could affect public safety or infrastructure and recommend pruning, removal, or other appropriate mitigation measures.

Vegetation Management Planning

We work with utilities and public agencies to create proactive vegetation management programs that help reduce future maintenance needs, wildfire exposure, outage risk, and regulatory concerns.

Storm & Emergency Tree Response

Our emergency crews respond to fallen trees, storm damage, debris, and vegetation hazards affecting roadways, utility systems, public facilities, and other essential infrastructure.

What drives the price

01

Access

Can a chipper and a grapple truck get within reach of the trunk, or is everything coming out through a 36-inch gate by hand? This is the single biggest variable.

02

Drop zone

Open ground under the canopy means we can fell and buck. A pool, a patio or a neighbour's roof underneath means rigging or a crane, and the day gets longer.

03

Size, species and condition

Green oak weighs far more than dry pine of the same diameter, and a decayed trunk can't be climbed — both change the method before they change the price.

04

Stump and debris

Grinding is quoted with the removal. Say the word and we leave the rounds bucked for firewood, or chip everything and haul it out.

HOW IT COMES DOWN

Climbed, rigged or picked by crane

The method is decided on site by the arborist, not sold to you in advance. A tree in the open gets felled. A tree over a roof gets rigged down piece by piece, or lifted out whole by crane when that is faster and safer for the structure underneath.

What clients say

★★★★★

I love working with local family owned businesses, and they exceeded expectations! Hard working crew, especially Jeferson the lead, he was extremely knowledgeable on pruning our oaks. We’re on almost three acres, and our views have never been better.

Morgan and his team at 4th Generation Tree were a HUGE help to us. They were easy to work with, flexible, and very accommodating as we worked through several tree removal and trimming needs across our church property. Their work improved both the safety and appearance of our grounds. I highly recommend!!!

Casey, Morgan, and their crew at 4th Generation did a great job trimming our Oak trees, removing three big pines and grinding the stumps. It was a big job and they managed it perfectly! They have been trimming our oak trees for years and we are always happy with the results! Thanks again!
