Expert Tree & Vegetation Management for Safe, Healthy, Tournament-Ready Golf Courses

Golf course trees and vegetation require specialized management to balance player safety, turf health, course playability, aesthetics, and long-term landscape sustainability. 4th Generation Tree provides comprehensive golf course tree and vegetation management throughout San Luis Obispo, Monterey, and Santa Barbara Counties. Our ISA Certified Arborists work with golf course superintendents, greenskeepers, facility managers, and course operators to maintain healthy trees, clear sight lines, manage wildfire risk, respond to storm damage, and protect valuable turf and landscaping.

What we do

Tree Pruning & Canopy Management

Our ISA Certified Arborists provide structural pruning, canopy thinning, deadwood removal, and selective limb management to improve safety, sunlight penetration, turf performance, and sight lines without compromising the character of the course.

Hazard Tree Management & Storm Response

We inspect trees for structural concerns and provide rapid removal, pruning, crane services, and debris cleanup when hazardous trees or storm damage threaten golfers, employees, buildings, vehicles, or course operations.

Fire-Safe Vegetation Management

Our crews reduce brush, weeds, ladder fuels, and overgrown vegetation around course boundaries, slopes, service roads, and infrastructure to improve defensible space while preserving the visual quality of the property.

Plant Health Care & Long-Term Canopy Planning

We provide pest and disease management, soil improvement, fertilization, aeration, appropriate tree selection, and replacement planning to maintain a healthy and diverse golf course canopy for years to come.

What drives the price

01

Access

Can a chipper and a grapple truck get within reach of the trunk, or is everything coming out through a 36-inch gate by hand? This is the single biggest variable.

02

Drop zone

Open ground under the canopy means we can fell and buck. A pool, a patio or a neighbour's roof underneath means rigging or a crane, and the day gets longer.

03

Size, species and condition

Green oak weighs far more than dry pine of the same diameter, and a decayed trunk can't be climbed — both change the method before they change the price.

04

Stump and debris

Grinding is quoted with the removal. Say the word and we leave the rounds bucked for firewood, or chip everything and haul it out.

HOW IT COMES DOWN

Climbed, rigged or picked by crane

The method is decided on site by the arborist, not sold to you in advance. A tree in the open gets felled. A tree over a roof gets rigged down piece by piece, or lifted out whole by crane when that is faster and safer for the structure underneath.

What clients say

★★★★★

I love working with local family owned businesses, and they exceeded expectations! Hard working crew, especially Jeferson the lead, he was extremely knowledgeable on pruning our oaks. We’re on almost three acres, and our views have never been better.

Morgan and his team at 4th Generation Tree were a HUGE help to us. They were easy to work with, flexible, and very accommodating as we worked through several tree removal and trimming needs across our church property. Their work improved both the safety and appearance of our grounds. I highly recommend!!!

Garrett Kruse

Casey, Morgan, and their crew at 4th Generation did a great job trimming our Oak trees, removing three big pines and grinding the stumps. It was a big job and they managed it perfectly! They have been trimming our oak trees for years and we are always happy with the results! Thanks again!
