Comprehensive Tree Care & Urban Forestry Solutions for Municipalities and Public Agencies

Healthy public trees improve safety, shade, aesthetics, environmental quality, and the long-term value of community spaces. 4th Generation Tree provides comprehensive municipal tree services for cities, counties, public works departments, parks, and other government agencies throughout California’s Central Coast. Our ISA Certified Arborists deliver data-driven tree inventories, pruning, hazard mitigation, removals, planting, plant health care, and urban forestry consulting designed to support safer streets, healthier parks, and more sustainable public landscapes.

What we do

Tree Inventory & Urban Forest Assessment

Our ISA Certified Arborists document tree species, size, condition, location, and maintenance priorities to help municipalities plan budgets, schedule work, and manage public tree assets more efficiently.

Municipal Tree Pruning & Risk Management

We provide professional pruning, hazard reduction, emergency response, and tree removal services designed to protect roadways, parks, sidewalks, public buildings, and other community spaces.

Tree Planting & Urban Forestry Planning

We help cities and counties select appropriate tree species, plan replacement and reforestation projects, and develop long-term canopy strategies that support biodiversity, resilience, and sustainable growth.

Plant Health Care & Arborist Consulting

Our team provides pest and disease management, tree health evaluations, permitting assistance, staff training, and professional recommendations to help public agencies maintain healthier and safer urban forests.

What drives the price

01

Access

Can a chipper and a grapple truck get within reach of the trunk, or is everything coming out through a 36-inch gate by hand? This is the single biggest variable.

02

Drop zone

Open ground under the canopy means we can fell and buck. A pool, a patio or a neighbour's roof underneath means rigging or a crane, and the day gets longer.

03

Size, species and condition

Green oak weighs far more than dry pine of the same diameter, and a decayed trunk can't be climbed — both change the method before they change the price.

04

Stump and debris

Grinding is quoted with the removal. Say the word and we leave the rounds bucked for firewood, or chip everything and haul it out.

HOW IT COMES DOWN

Climbed, rigged or picked by crane

The method is decided on site by the arborist, not sold to you in advance. A tree in the open gets felled. A tree over a roof gets rigged down piece by piece, or lifted out whole by crane when that is faster and safer for the structure underneath.

What clients say

★★★★★

I love working with local family owned businesses, and they exceeded expectations! Hard working crew, especially Jeferson the lead, he was extremely knowledgeable on pruning our oaks. We’re on almost three acres, and our views have never been better.

★★★★★

Morgan and his team at 4th Generation Tree were a HUGE help to us. They were easy to work with, flexible, and very accommodating as we worked through several tree removal and trimming needs across our church property. Their work improved both the safety and appearance of our grounds. I highly recommend!!!

Garrett Kruse

★★★★★

Casey, Morgan, and their crew at 4th Generation did a great job trimming our Oak trees, removing three big pines and grinding the stumps. It was a big job and they managed it perfectly! They have been trimming our oak trees for years and we are always happy with the results! Thanks again!
