Professional Arborist Consulting for Safer, Healthier, Better-Managed Trees

4th Generation Tree provides professional tree consulting services backed by ISA Certified Arborists, decades of field experience, and industry-standard assessment methods. From tree risk assessments and construction protection plans to tree inventories, health monitoring, arborist reports, and expert consulting, we help clients protect valuable trees, reduce liability, meet local requirements, and make confident, science-based decisions. Our consulting services are available throughout Paso Robles, Atascadero, Templeton, San Luis Obispo, Creston, and surrounding communities.

What we do

Tree Risk Assessments & Hazard Evaluation

Our ISA Certified Arborists inspect trees for decay, structural defects, root instability, disease, environmental stress, and other conditions that may affect tree safety and recommend practical steps to reduce risk.

Tree Protection for Construction & Development

We create customized Tree Protection and Preservation Plans that help developers, contractors, architects, and property owners protect existing trees from root damage, soil compaction, grading, drainage changes, and construction activity.

Tree Inventories & Long-Term Management Planning

Our tree inventory and mapping services document species, location, condition, maintenance needs, and risk priorities so HOAs, municipalities, and property managers can plan tree care and budgeting more effectively.

Arborist Reports & Expert Consulting

We prepare clear, professional arborist reports for planning, permitting, insurance claims, liability concerns, legal matters, tree valuations, compliance requirements, and other situations where expert documentation is needed.

What drives the price

01

Access

Can a chipper and a grapple truck get within reach of the trunk, or is everything coming out through a 36-inch gate by hand? This is the single biggest variable.

02

Drop zone

Open ground under the canopy means we can fell and buck. A pool, a patio or a neighbour's roof underneath means rigging or a crane, and the day gets longer.

03

Size, species and condition

Green oak weighs far more than dry pine of the same diameter, and a decayed trunk can't be climbed — both change the method before they change the price.

04

Stump and debris

Grinding is quoted with the removal. Say the word and we leave the rounds bucked for firewood, or chip everything and haul it out.

HOW IT COMES DOWN

Climbed, rigged or picked by crane

The method is decided on site by the arborist, not sold to you in advance. A tree in the open gets felled. A tree over a roof gets rigged down piece by piece, or lifted out whole by crane when that is faster and safer for the structure underneath.

What clients say

★★★★★

I love working with local family owned businesses, and they exceeded expectations! Hard working crew, especially Jeferson the lead, he was extremely knowledgeable on pruning our oaks. We’re on almost three acres, and our views have never been better.

★★★★★

Morgan and his team at 4th Generation Tree were a HUGE help to us. They were easy to work with, flexible, and very accommodating as we worked through several tree removal and trimming needs across our church property. Their work improved both the safety and appearance of our grounds. I highly recommend!!!

Garrett Kruse

★★★★★

Casey, Morgan, and their crew at 4th Generation did a great job trimming our Oak trees, removing three big pines and grinding the stumps. It was a big job and they managed it perfectly! They have been trimming our oak trees for years and we are always happy with the results! Thanks again!
