Expert Tree & Vegetation Management for Wildfire Prevention and Fire-Safe Communities

4th Generation Tree partners with Fire Safe Councils, CAL FIRE, local agencies, utilities, HOAs, and private property owners to reduce wildfire risk through professional fuel management, defensible-space clearing, land clearing, mastication, hazard-tree removal, and post-fire rehabilitation. Our experienced crews use specialized equipment and environmentally responsible methods to improve fire resilience, maintain access routes, support grant-funded projects, and protect communities throughout San Luis Obispo, Monterey, and Santa Barbara Counties.

What we do

Fuel Reduction & Vegetation Management

Our crews reduce hazardous brush, ladder fuels, dense vegetation, and combustible material using hand crews, forestry masticators, tracked chippers, and other specialized equipment suited to Central Coast terrain.

Defensible Space & Community Wildfire Protection

We create and maintain defensible space around homes, neighborhoods, roads, and critical infrastructure to help reduce fire intensity and improve access for emergency response.

Post-Fire Cleanup & Rehabilitation

Following wildfires, we remove hazardous trees and debris, stabilize disturbed areas, install erosion-control measures, and support revegetation efforts designed to protect soil, waterways, and recovering landscapes.

Public Agency & Fire Safe Council Project Support

We work with Fire Safe Councils, CAL FIRE, Resource Conservation Districts, municipalities, and utility partners on large-scale vegetation-management projects, including bid support, project mapping, field operations, and completion documentation.

What drives the price

01

Access

Can a chipper and a grapple truck get within reach of the trunk, or is everything coming out through a 36-inch gate by hand? This is the single biggest variable.

02

Drop zone

Open ground under the canopy means we can fell and buck. A pool, a patio or a neighbour's roof underneath means rigging or a crane, and the day gets longer.

03

Size, species and condition

Green oak weighs far more than dry pine of the same diameter, and a decayed trunk can't be climbed — both change the method before they change the price.

04

Stump and debris

Grinding is quoted with the removal. Say the word and we leave the rounds bucked for firewood, or chip everything and haul it out.

HOW IT COMES DOWN

Climbed, rigged or picked by crane

The method is decided on site by the arborist, not sold to you in advance. A tree in the open gets felled. A tree over a roof gets rigged down piece by piece, or lifted out whole by crane when that is faster and safer for the structure underneath.

What clients say

★★★★★

I love working with local family owned businesses, and they exceeded expectations! Hard working crew, especially Jeferson the lead, he was extremely knowledgeable on pruning our oaks. We’re on almost three acres, and our views have never been better.

Morgan and his team at 4th Generation Tree were a HUGE help to us. They were easy to work with, flexible, and very accommodating as we worked through several tree removal and trimming needs across our church property. Their work improved both the safety and appearance of our grounds. I highly recommend!!!

Garrett Kruse

Casey, Morgan, and their crew at 4th Generation did a great job trimming our Oak trees, removing three big pines and grinding the stumps. It was a big job and they managed it perfectly! They have been trimming our oak trees for years and we are always happy with the results! Thanks again!
