Emergency failures

A tree usually gets removed for one of four reasons: it's dead, it's failing, it's in the footprint of something you're building, or it's the wrong species in the wrong place and always will be.

Before we quote a removal, an ISA Certified Arborist looks at whether it actually needs to come down. Sometimes the answer is a reduction cut and a cable instead — that conversation costs you nothing and it's the reason our arborists are on payroll rather than on retainer.

What we take down

Hazard & dead trees

Beetle-killed pines, oaks with root or butt decay, anything leaning toward a structure.

Removals over structures

Crane picks over roofs, pools, decks and septic lids where there's no drop zone.

Storm failures

Trees already on a house, a car or a driveway. Called in and dispatched 24/7.

Site prep removals

Clearing a building footprint, a driveway alignment or a new leach field. What drives the price

What drives the price

01

Access

Can a chipper and a grapple truck get within reach of the trunk, or is everything coming out through a 36-inch gate by hand? This is the single biggest variable.

02

Drop zone

Open ground under the canopy means we can fell and buck. A pool, a patio or a neighbour's roof underneath means rigging or a crane, and the day gets longer.

03

Size, species and condition

Green oak weighs far more than dry pine of the same diameter, and a decayed trunk can't be climbed — both change the method before they change the price.

04

Stump and debris

Grinding is quoted with the removal. Say the word and we leave the rounds bucked for firewood, or chip everything and haul it out.

Included in every removal

Written scope before we start

Property protection over lawns and hardscape

Chipping and haul-off of all brush

Site raked and blown down before we leave

Certificate of insurance on request

Permit filing where the county or city requires it

Workers handling cut branches beside a roadside wood chipper and truck.

HOW IT COMES DOWN

Climbed, rigged or picked by crane

The method is decided on site by the arborist, not sold to you in advance. A tree in the open gets felled. A tree over a roof gets rigged down piece by piece, or lifted out whole by crane when that is faster and safer for the structure underneath.

CRANE

GRAPPLE

Tree removal questions

Can you remove a tree without getting equipment in the back yard?

Check with 4G Tree – Yes. Climbers rig the tree down in pieces and everything gets carried or winched to the street. It takes longer than an open-access removal, which is why access is the first thing we ask about — a photo of the gate and the side yard usually settles it.

Check with 4G Tree – Yes. We can grind the stump below the surface as part of the removal, leaving the area clean and ready for landscaping, replanting, or whatever comes next.

Check with 4G Tree – Most tree removals can be completed in a day. Larger trees, tight access, nearby structures, or removals that require extensive rigging or heavy equipment may take longer. We’ll assess the site beforehand so you know what to expect.

Check with 4G Tree – Yes. If you’d like to keep logs or wood chips, just let us know before we start. We can leave material on the property for firewood or mulch instead of hauling it away.

Check with 4G Tree – Yes. For storm damage and other covered tree emergencies, we can provide photos, descriptions, arborist reports, and itemized invoices to help document the work for your insurance claim.

What clients say

★★★★★

I love working with local family owned businesses, and they exceeded expectations! Hard working crew, especially Jeferson the lead, he was extremely knowledgeable on pruning our oaks. We’re on almost three acres, and our views have never been better.

Morgan and his team at 4th Generation Tree were a HUGE help to us. They were easy to work with, flexible, and very accommodating as we worked through several tree removal and trimming needs across our church property. Their work improved both the safety and appearance of our grounds. I highly recommend!!!

Casey, Morgan, and their crew at 4th Generation did a great job trimming our Oak trees, removing three big pines and grinding the stumps. It was a big job and they managed it perfectly! They have been trimming our oak trees for years and we are always happy with the results! Thanks again!
