4th Generation Tree’s arborist roots span back four generations of tree care on the Central Coast. Richard Alvarez started Arbor Tree Surgery in 1959 and had operations based out of Paso Robles, CA. Arbor was one of the largest vegetation management contractors on the West Coast. Richard’s son, Steve Alvarez, got his start with Arbor Tree Surgery before branching off to start his own company, A&T Arborists and Vegetation Management in 2003. Steve and A&T have been serving the Central Coast residents, commercial clients, local cities, counties, and municipalities for over 60 years! 

Steve recently passed the reigns off to his grandson, Morgan Scovell, daughter McKenzie Guenther, and son-in-law, Casey Guenther--Owners of 4th Generation since 2018. 4G Tree and A&T Arborists now share a special alignment and can truly service every vegetation management need on the Central Coast… from tree trimming, pruning, removals, arborist consulting, tree protection plans, construction monitoring, pest and disease care, emergency clean-up, weed abatement, land clearing, and wood and mulch reprocessing… 4G Tree can do it all!

4G Tree has three ISA Certified Arborists on staff, expert climbers with years of experience, and a certified treatment specialist to handle diseased trees. 4G Tree employees participate in daily safety meetings, rigorous in-house safety programs, and follow industry specific safety publications. We comply with OSHA and ANSI standards, and all local, state and federal regulations.
